Refreshing Drink Recipes to Bid Summer Farewell

The days are getting shorter and the nights are getting colder, and summer is slowly coming to an end. Before autumn falls into place, take advantage of these refreshing beverage recipes to sate your sweet tooth and stay cool just a little while longer:

Strawberry Rose Daiquiri

This strawberry rose daiquiri is made with rum, lime, strawberries, and sugar. It takes just 10 minutes to throw together and offers a subtle sugar rush sure to make your taste buds happy. If strawberries aren’t your ingredient of choice, you can swap them out for peaches or any other fruit.

Sparkling Peach Iced Tea

Sparkling peach iced tea is a staple of the front porch. Fortunately, it’s also extremely easy to make. This recipe calls for freshly brewed tea, homemade peach simple syrup, seltzer water, fresh peaches, and fresh mint. It takes roughly 25 minutes to put together, but don’t worry: you’ll enjoy it immediately.

Iced Latté

You don’t have to go to a coffee shop and spend a small fortune for a cup of joe. You can make an iced latté with a handful of ingredients and a little bit of time. Just combine espresso shots, ice, whole milk, and honey, sugar, or maple syrup. It’s great for a busy morning or a pick-me-up on a scorching August afternoon.

Hippie Juice

Hippie juice is the ideal concoction for a farewell to summer BBQ or neighborhood potluck. Made with Malibu rum, triple sec, watermelon vodka, sliced strawberries, sliced lemon, fresh mint, raspberries, and Country Time Pink Lemonade, it’s a light and refreshing option that’s sure to be a hit with anyone who appreciates a good party punch.

Basil, Strawberry, and Watermelon Cooler

This basil, strawberry, and watermelon cooler can be made with or without alcohol. The ingredients include chopped watermelon, thinly-sliced strawberries, coconut water, fresh basil leaves, and ice cubes. To make an alcoholic version, use chilled sparkling wine. To make a non-alcoholic version, swap it out with mineral water, instead.

Mother Nature might be ready to put away her swimsuit and flip-flops in favor of flannels and blue jeans, but there’s still a little summer to be had. See it off in style with a toast to taste.
