The Longmont Lights Festival takes place on the evening of December 9th at Roosevelt Park. This Friday event includes fire pits, hot cocoa carts, holiday music, and costumed characters. The Memorial Building comes to life as Santa’s workshop, where children can learn how to build toys and make arts and crafts. The night ends with a fireworks show beginning at 7:45pm.
Holiday Parade
Longmont’s Holiday Parade, which technically serves as the grand finale of the Lights Festival, kicks off at 5pm on December 10th. It’s packed full of bright, glimmering floats as they roll down Coffman Street and Main Street. Stop by to enjoy the lights and wave to Santa, and if you can’t make it in person, you can catch it on YouTube.
The Longmont Ice Rink offers open skating sessions throughout the season, weather permitting. This full-service, outdoor rink also offers hockey, private rentals, and skating lessons. If you don’t know how to skate, ‘tis the season to learn.
The Handcrafted Holiday Market on December 10th and 11th features over 30 local vendors and offers free parking and admission. Come peruse aisles of sweaters, candles, soaps, artwork, plants, jewelry, blankets, and more. Stay for the hourly prizes and giveaways and support local!
Shopping online may be convenient, but it’s certainly not as satisfying as supporting local businesses. Join people all over the nation for Small Business Saturday on November 26th.
