Colorado is a melting pot, and provides a beautiful setting to celebrate the diversity of our residents. The Colorado Latino Festival will be here from June 18-24, so don’t miss out on the opportunity to enjoy the hundreds of customs and traditions from Latin America. If you’d like to stop by, here’s what you need to know:
About the Event
The Latino population in America continues to grow and contribute to the community. The term “Latin America” encompasses a wide array of countries, including upwards of 33 nations. To celebrate and highlight the importance of Latin American culture in Colorado and around the world, Barrío É and The Latino Chamber of Commerce of Boulder County have come together to present the third annual Colorado Latino Festival.
This gathering is an enormously popular event that draws thousands of participants from multiple regions of the United States. More than 15,000 people attended last year, and the 2018 festival is expected to have an even larger turnout. There’s an abundance of features this year, including art shows, live musical and dance performances, and a plethora of delicious cuisine and beverages to sample.
The festival kicks off with a reception at the Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art on Monday, June 18 at 5:30 pm, where guests can examine incredible works by Colorado Latino artists. Several festivities are on the schedule for the week, including a performance by Barrio E'nsemble and Jyemo Club at Bands on the Bricks on June 20 at 6:00 p.m. To view the full schedule for the week, please visit this website.
The main attraction will be presented on Sunday, June 24 from 11:00 am-8:00 pm at Central Park in Boulder. The festival is a lively gathering, and will include opportunities for artists within the Latino community to share their heritage.
