Living on the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains in Longmont is beautiful. Near enough to the city life of Denver, while still close to the great outdoors of the Rockies grants VerraWest residents the unique opportunity to enjoy downtown Denver one day and the picturesque serenity of the Rocky Mountains the next.
Especially enchanting is Estes Park, which is located less than an hour away from VerraWest Apartments. Within Estes Park, itself located in the Rocky Mountains, is an annual event that, like a fine wine, gets better with age. This event, Estes Park Wine Festival, began in 2015 and is now entering its third year of development.
Wine can be a complicated culinary area to navigate, especially when paired with food, music, artistic performances and the grandeur of the Rocky Mountains. We’re here to give you the most important information regarding this year’s Estes Park Wine Festival. Therefore, you can save time on researching the event and spend more time enjoying a glass of wine to properly prepare for this annual experience.
Where & When
The Wine Festival will be held at Bond Park in Estes Park, Colorado. This is a two-day event and will take place on Saturday, August 12 and Sunday, August 13 from 11:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.. Tickets may be purchased at the Festival, online, or at any King Soopers location.
Entertainment
Wine and food vendors notwithstanding, Estes Park Wine Festival has planned a stellar line-up of musicians, artisans, and more to keep you smiling all weekend long.
Kicking off the Festival on Saturday is Fort Collins native Derek Blake, set to perform his unique takes on bluegrass and Americana classics from 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. on the main stage. The rest of the weekend’s musical lineup is as follows:
o Saturday from 1:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.: Dearling Duo
o Saturday from 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.: Denny Driscoll’s Friends
o Sunday from 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.: The Catcalls with special guest Matthew Wilburn Skinner
o Sunday from 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.: Woodbelly
While the music plays, meander through the park and take part in one of the many artistic exhibitions on display. For instance, try your hand at Painting with a Twist, where the emphasis is on “fun art, not fine art”.
Food Vendors
This year the Festival kept its food vendor list short and sweet; perfect for the wandering guests keen on trying their next wine after a delicious palate cleansing from Repicci’s Italian Ice. If you’re in the mood for a more substantial option, the Festival will also host restaurants Island Style BBQ, Mateo’s Catering, and Tayziac J’s.
