Longmont’s artists and makers are coming together from 10am-5pm on December 11th and 12th for a weekend of shopping and fun at the 2021 Handcrafted Holiday Market. Organized by LongmontArtisan Market, the event boasts over thirty artisans from the local community, ready to share their handmade jewelry, bags, soaps, and artwork. After a break from having the event in-person in 2020, having all of the creators together feels extra special this year. However, since the location is fully indoors, the Boulder County Fairgrounds will require masks and social distancing for all vendors and visitors. Complete your holiday gift list with a special, one-of-a-kind find from Longmont’s creatives!
Local Artwork
There will be several artists at the holiday market offering illustrations, stickers, and unique decor. Look for Fettle & Fire, who creates beautiful ceramic chimes and dishes in a variety of colors. For a whimsical flair, Fern Spike Art takes their bold illustrations and turns them into stickers, stationary, prints, and enamel pins. If you’re looking for something a bit more practical but still beautiful on a shelf, Erica Lee Ceramics is a great stop for handmade dishes, vases, and planters. These are just a few examples, so be on the lookout for other illustrators, photographers, and ceramicists while browsing the booths.
Artisanal Goods
Boulder County is home to many special makers who are ready to share their jewelry, soaps, and delicious treats. Along with holiday ornaments and handstitched bags, The Hummingbird Moon offers a selection of hand painted skeins of yarn, perfect for the crochet or knitting hobbyist in your life. St. Vrain Soap Company is a women-owned and family-operated business based in Longmont. They make cold-pressed soaps and other body care products using gentle, eco-friendly ingredients. Those who love Colorado-inspired creations will want to stop by and see Rose & The Wren, who takes inspiration from nature when creating their unique handstitched bags. Although there are 30+ vendors to see, a stop at Sweet Ada’s is definitely worth your time. This one-woman business crafts small batches of caramels, toffee, and lollipops locally.
These vendors are just a few of the many booths that will be at Longmont’s Handcrafted Holiday Market. We are fortunate to have such a creative community of small businesses to support and share with loved ones this holiday season, and living in one of VerraWest’s modern apartments means you’re always just a short drive away from Longmont’s bustling downtown, where you can enjoy local shops and sweets all year round.
