New Traditions to Try This Thanksgiving

If you’re planning on hosting Thanksgiving this year or would like to incorporate a new tradition into your usual routine, you may be in need of inspiration. Finding the right traditions for your household can be a challenge, but it’s always fun to try out new ideas. When you’re ready to start planning the perfect Thanksgiving, take a look at the traditions below:

Have Dessert For Breakfast

Do you often find yourself too full to hit the dessert table after Thanksgiving lunch or dinner? Try mixing things up and start the day with a slice of pumpkin bread or pie. If you have guests staying with you for the holiday, invite them to join in this little indulgence.

Decorate Butcher Paper For a Tablecloth

If your Thanksgiving celebration will have guests of all age groups, swap out a traditional tablecloth for a sheet of butcher paper. Add some markers or crayons to the mix, and let attendees write notes of thanks or draw doodles to make the table feel more personal. Once the special day is over, take a picture of the final result to remember for years to come.

Create a Signature Beverage

Want to make your Thanksgiving gatherings an event to remember? Experiment with cocktails and come up with a signature beverage to serve each year. Apple toddys topped with whipped cream offer a warm, spicy flavor, but there are a variety of fall-inspired drinks to choose from, as well. For more inspiration, head over to this site to see if anything looks too delicious to pass up.

Take a Stroll After the Meal

If you’re looking for a way to extend quality time with your Thanksgiving group, hit the trails after your meal for some fresh air and sightseeing. Our state has plenty of gorgeous options to choose from, including Dawson Park and Flanders Park right here in Longmont. A nice long walk is a great opportunity to spend screen-free time with loved ones, and you can warm up with a cup of cider or hot chocolate when you get home.

The holiday season is a wonderful time of year to host gatherings and find new traditions. If you’re looking forward to entertaining in a new apartment home this year, stop by for a tour of VerraWest. Our luxury community offers an impressive array of modern amenities and a variety of floor plans to suit your needs.
