Looking for an awesome exhibit without having to leave Longmont? Don’t miss out on the opportunity to experience Dinosaur Discoveries: Ancient Fossils, New Ideas presented by Xilinx at the Longmont Museum. Here, we share the details on this exciting exhibition.
What To Expect at Dinosaur Discoveries
Dinosaurs are fascinating, and all age groups can appreciate this unique showing. If you’d like to learn more about these incredible creatures, be sure to stop by the museum by January 14. The conclusion date is quickly approaching, but you can save time and purchase tickets online. The display is available every day of the week: Monday through Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m, and on Sunday from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m.
This exhibit is an excellent learning opportunity for attendees, and provides a fresh take on dinosaur research. The theories on dinosaur biology have evolved, so you may be surprised to learn about new insights discovered by scientists at the American Museum of Natural History and other prestigious institutions.
At the display, you can expect to see authentic bones from a T-Rex that were discovered in the nearby town of Littleton. In addition to the awesome skeleton exhibit, attendees will have the chance to handle lifelike models and casts in a fun, educational environment. As if there weren’t enough activities to choose from, you’ll also be able to watch realistic computer simulations and see the motion of dinosaur models as they walk, run, and flex their necks. For dinosaur enthusiasts or those who love to learn, this exhibit is a can’t-miss.
While some exhibits aren’t suitable for children, this display welcomes kids. In fact, little ones under the age of three are admitted to the museum for free. The facility offers a dig pit where kiddos can dive into the sand and dig for bones, as well as an area to put together exciting 3D puzzles. As an extra treat at the end of the journey, individuals of all ages are encouraged to feed the chickens located in the courtyard. It’s a little-known fact that chickens are descended from dinosaurs, and it’s been hypothesized that their feathers may be a trait inherited from their extinct ancestors.
