There’s no better way to check out the newest restaurants, gallery openings, and shops in Longmont than by attending 2nd Fridays. On the second Friday of every month, our city joins up with local food and entertainment venues to bring special deals and store hours from 6PM-9PM. And with $1 rides on the Brew Hop Trolley, you can catch a ride all evening from 1st Ave to Longs Peak Ave.
Each 2nd Friday features different local businesses and themes. On March 10, the theme of the night is Craft It!. If you visit participating shops and get three “Own It!” stickers, or one sticker and a receipt from a shop purchase, you can redeem them for a limited edition 2nd Fridays pint glass. Stop by Crystal Joys or 300 Suns Brewing with either combination and pick up your free pint glass.
Crystal Joys is a unique local shop offering healing crystals and stones. Their gemstone, natural rock, and mineral jewelry is largely handmade by adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. With additional storefronts in Arvada and Fort Collins, Crystal Joys is a must-have on your list of destinations on March 10, regardless of whether you’re stopping in for your free pint glass.
At 300 Suns Brewing, you will find enticing local craft brews and small bites in their tasting room—or, enjoy them on the brewery’s sundeck. On March 10, it’s $2 each pint, so it’s a great time to try 300 Sun’s flavorful on tap brews, like Trail Marker Imperial IPA and 1st Avenue River Pale Ale. They also have plenty of wine and hard cider for non-hop heads. Be sure to grab a meat & cheese plate or Panini to fuel up for the rest of the night’s festivities, too.
These two shops are a small glimpse of the businesses Longmont highlights on 2nd Fridays. The Firehouse Art Center is among the list of participating venues, and is chock full of contemporary art to bring culture to your evening. Swing by the Dickens Tavern & Opera House to catch a show before or after 2nd Friday activities. If the menu at Dickens or 300 Suns isn’t to your liking, you can always stop in at Hefe’s Tacos and Tequila for a Latin flavor.
Regardless of what you’re in the mood for, 2nd Friday in Longmont offers something for everyone, and March 10’s Craft It! evening will be no exception. Be sure to grab your complimentary pint glass!
