Independence Day is just around the corner. If you’re looking for a way to celebrate, Longmont has several festivities to choose from. Our city is packed with awesome entertainment and dining options, and enjoying the Fourth of July is always an exciting event here. Interested in attending one or more of the celebrations this year? Here’s what’s going on in Longmont on the Fourth:
If you’d like to take part in patriotic activities all day long, kick off Independence Day at Longmont’s Fourth of July concert in the park. Located at Thompson Park, this event includes an array of classic American entertainment like live orchestral music, a picnic contest, and a great selection of prizes. The historical setting of Thompson Park is a beautiful backdrop for this celebration, so don’t miss out on the fun. The concert will run from 11:45 am to 2:00 pm, and it’s free of charge and open to the public.
TinkerMill’s annual Fourth of July Carnival is a favorite among our community, and it offers an incredible view of the fireworks show that begins after sunset. TinkerMill is Longmont’s premier makerspace, and their spacious studio and grounds is the perfect venue for celebrating the Fourth. The festivities on the schedule include a dunk tank, live music, games, demonstrations from TinkerMill’s artisans, and a variety of food trucks and craft beer. This is a popular event, so be sure to register online if you’d like to attend. If you’re staying until the conclusion of the fireworks show, bring a chair to kick back and enjoy the display.
The Fourth of July isn’t complete without a fireworks show. The City of Longmont strives to provide an unforgettable fireworks display every year, and our residents love this exciting event. The show will kick off at 9:30 pm at the Boulder County Fairgrounds, and KGUD 90.7 FM will air music that’s synced to enhance the experience. Parking is available at the shopping center near the fairgrounds, but you can see the fireworks from any location within a one-mile radius.
